Ateneo MEA students partnered up with startup companies for internships, employment
Last April 26 to 30, 2021, Ateneo Management Engineering Association (MEA) organized a Zoom event to provide career opportunities to Management Engineering students and expose them to different companies that they may encounter once they graduate. Sounds like something every college student needs right now, yes?
Ateneo MEA organized the MEA Cares- COMPASS Networking Week, which caters to all students of the Management Engineering program looking for job opportunities. With this event, they partnered up with different companies ranging from Huawei, P&G, Shopee, and Edukasyon.ph.

“We didn’t want to limit the event to only a select number of companies because every company has something to offer, and we didn’t want to make the MEAns feel like they’re limited in the job options that they can choose,” Shan Alecxander Porras, the Program Developer Juniors Core Member of the organization said. “Especially as a freshie, I’m still quite unsure which path I want to take in the future and being able to see the different companies in the different fields was very helpful in choosing which path I want to take in the future,” Shan added.
According to Raphael Pielogo, MEACares Project Head, aside from the networking itself, partner companies also conducted their own talks. “Since every session had their own thing going on, I believe each session was a highlight on its own, in the same manner that each company had their own unique networking session and event to promote the career opportunities graduating students could get by working with them,” Raphael emphasized.
Aside from COMPASS Networking Week, the Ateneo Management Engineering Association also conducted numerous networking sessions, coaching sessions, case competitions, webinars, industry and company talks, and promotional campaigns for other students in the same program. Through these programs, students can gain both hard and soft skills that can identify their strengths and weaknesses in their future career they could excel in.
